REHABILITATION AND PERFORMANCE PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy is individual to each animal and the best way to treat animals depends on the one rather than a set procedure. I always endeavour to:

  • Restore or improve function

  • Protect joint mobility

  • Develop or maintain muscle mass and build

  • Manage and reduce pain through a combination of veterinary treatment and my own manual and electrotherapies

  • Management of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries

  • management of neural conditions

MANUAL THERAPIES AND TECHNIQUES

Including massage, stretching, joint manipulation and mobilisation, trigger point release, soft tissue mobilisation and manipulation and range of motion.

ENVIRONMENTAL ALTERATIONS

Working with you and your animals environment I can help advise you on the small alterations to your animals environment to maximise the benefits from your animals physiotherapy sessions.

EXERCISE PERSCRIPTION

The use of a large range of home exercises, stretching and even some equipment to improve performance, condition and manage conditions.

ELECTROTHERAPIES

Currently using tools like Laser therapy,  TENS and NMES (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and Neuromuscular electrical stimulation) I can treat pain and muscular activation to augment the manual therapies and exercise prescription that make up the bulk of your sessions.

THERMOTHERAPY AND CRYOTHERAPY

Using thermo and cryo therapies to manage muscle pain tone and discomfort or manage joint discomfort or even keep a client warm in the winter months during sessions.
